Dr. Armando Moncada is the chief medical officer at PCG Molecular, one of Dahlonega, Georgia’s foremost privately-held providers of anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and molecular testing services. As CMO of the leading medical group, Dr. Moncada expertly handles laboratory activities on a daily basis, and he works hard to ensure physicians receive the most clinically relevant diagnoses. With more than 20 years of experience in medical research, Dr. Moncada specializes in surgical pathology and gynecological pathology, as well as in breast pathology, immunohistochemistry, and gastrointestinal and urological pathology.
Dr. Moncada has amassed a wealth of knowledge, skill and proficiency in his current capacity, and he continues to strive for excellence as a pathologist. Dr. Moncada has fulfilled several roles throughout his career; he is a seasoned CAP inspector who has served as the state commissioner for the College of American Pathologists in New Mexico, where he handled the laboratory accreditation program for both clinical and pathology medical laboratories. Dr. Moncada currently serves as a CAP inspector for the College of American Pathologists, and he appreciates the ever-changing needs of the medical community and laboratory industry.
With an ever-growing fluency in pathology, Dr. Moncada has become erudite in the field of pathology after having attended the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a fellowship at the City of Hope Medical Center and served as medical director of a 300-bed hospital system in Texas and New Mexico. Following the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Moncada was selected to serve as assistant professor of pathology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is committed to seeking novel methods of diminishing the rising health care costs.
